Horse Feed

Horse’s digestive systems differ from humans in the sense that they have adapted to be able to tolerate with a highly fibre-based diet. Despite being able to digest an increased amount of fibre, horses still require a balanced diet with a mixture of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, similar to their owners. If a horse is on a maintained and balanced diet, it will retain a positive body condition and weight, the proteins it ingests will help it recover from injury, and the fats and carbohydrates will provide energy for the horse to be able to work and grow effectively. Horses naturally get vitamins and minerals from grazing, but some supplementary feeds can give them a boost to give them more energy and keep them healthier.
