We offer Soil testing services via our independant testers at Tim O¶?Hare Associates who provides an independent sampling and testing service to assess the quality of soils and soil ameliorants used within the landscape and sports amenity sectors. The practice has long been established as the Topsoil Testing House for the landscape industry and currently tests soils on a regular basis for many contractors and the majority of the UK¶?s topsoil suppliers and manufacturers. Sampling Accurate sampling to recover representative samples for testing is an essential part of any material testing procedure.
Our soil scientists can visit sites to sample -in-situ - or -stockpiled -soils and soil ameliorants in accordance with relevant standards (eg. BS3882:2015, BS8601:2013 or PAS100:2011 ). Laboratory Testing Analysis of topsoil (including BS3882:2015 ), subsoil (BS8601:2013), rootzones (sports pitch, lightweight, tree sand), composts (including PAS100:2011) and other growing media. Interpretive Reports All test results are accompanied by an interpretive report as standard. The report comments on the suitability of the soil for the proposed end use, e.g. for landscaping, sports pitches, habitat creation, land restoration. If a specification is supplied, the report confirms the soil¶?s compliance (or not) with the soil specification. Practical advice and recommendations are given to improve the soil composition and/or condition when necessary, including fertiliser, compost, lime application types/rates, and soil management advice.
