The scheme is a based on a worming plan with emphasis on the rotation of the key chemical ingredients contained in the leading equine wormers on the market today. The equine worming scheme is administered by Simon Wetherald who is registered with AMTRA (Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority) the scheme and provides help and guidance to ensure the best protection for all horses cats and dogs with regard to worming. Kelly Marie Rothery has also gained her qualification with regard to supplying horse and pet wormers. She too is an SQP (Suitably Qualified Person).

The Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2008 came into force on 1 October 2008 and state, amongst other things, that POM-VPS and NFA-VPS veterinary medicinal products may only be supplied by a Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) from premises approved by the Secretary of State. The Animal Medicines Inspectorate (AMI) of the VMD carries out the inspection and approval of premises on behalf of the Secretary of State.
